What to do on a sunny weekend? Travel of course, and since we’re the supporters of “you don’t need to travel far to find interesting places” thinking, we decided to travel to Riga, the capital of Latvia.
I love travel videos, I love making them. But they always feel a bit empty for me, sure it’s cool to see interesting things and to keep this for yourself, but there’s usually very little value for others. And at worse, it can easily turn into “Oh look where I was, I’m sooooo coool” type of videos, and I’m not gonna lie, this is that type of video. But it’s pretty fun, short, and energetic, so it still is worthy of your watch.
I think of adding values if we tend to travel, well we’ll see how to world works later on. Maybe showing where exactly you went, how much you paid for gas, parking, or entertainment. Maybe just giving the most important facts about that city or country, and maybe showing what to avoid during your travels. I don’t know man, I’m just spitballing here, but we will see what the future brings, and maybe I’ll have some more interesting travel videos to show you.
But getting back to this trip, Riga is actually a really interesting city. It’s very mixed like you can find buildings that look abandoned and from like the 1670s, but it also has very clean places. The best way to describe it it’s like a city was merged with a small village. There are still wooden electricity poles in some places in the city. And you can find lots of interesting art pieces, like that chair on the wall. I also find it interesting how large parts of the city have industrial and leisure places get combined. Like an abandoned factory turning into bars and brewereys.
Just visit it yourself and find it out. Some Riga tourism information, and some other, much closer city exploration.
