One aspect of city life that I find really fascinating is Graffiti or other street art. It’s this reflection of all different cultures and subcultures around us. One day while just strolling around the city a thought pop into my head, “is there any place to find most of these street art pieces?”. And while there were a few resources to find the Big Players but nothing consistent. So the idea was born, find as much graffiti as I can, photograph them, name them (Or find their name online), and add them to Google Maps.
While most of them had no name, o at least I couldn’t find it, so I had to get creative and just name them as I see them. If you by any chance know the name of some of these art pieces, feel free to correct me in the comments or private message. Oh and the worst thing that starts happening is that you start to find more and more and more and more and more and more of these graffitis. So at some points, it starts to feel like this task is endless.
Now I believe that there are 2 kinds of graffiti, the good kind, and the bad kind, I know groundbreaking thinking. But some of these art pieces even small ones can become bountiful parts of the structure, and others are just to “leave your mark”. So I had a rule, not to photography any graffiti that is just random marks or which I find to be unimportant. This at least made the scope capable of doing. Currently, at 2020-11 I collected more than 400 street art pieces, which granted is not that much, but still quite an accomplishment.
